Call for Training Course
All You Can Love

14 October – 22 October 2024

Palermo, Italy

About the project

“All You Can Love” is a professional development activity for 24 youth workers from Italy, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Greece, Poland and Portugal which aims to equip them with the knowledge, skills and tools to deconstruct patriarchal, heteronormative, traditional relationship models and educate young people with behaviour changing, non-formal educational methodologies about plural, gender equal sexualities, relationships and affectivity from an accessible, rights-based LGBTQIA+ perspective. The PDA is an EU-wide action organized by Maghweb in the context of its lively local and national level transfeminist activist work in LGBTQIA+ and female empowerment and representation in the public space, gender equality, consent, sexual and reproductive rights, sexuality, identity and the promotion of liberating, pluralist visions of gender. The organization has become an online and offline point of reference for young people, women and non-binary people across Palermo and Italy for these issues and runs an inclusive community hub and transfeminist library in the centre of Palermo which enables citizens to: freely discuss gender and sexuality with experts and the organisation’s trained volunteers; connects citizens to free sexual health services; provides free contraception; runs workshops for junior and senior high school students about consent, gender and sexual and reproductive rights and health and hosts cultural initiatives like photography exhibitions and film screenings that dismantle all the taboos surrounding these issues.

Through a series of group-led, interactive, non-formal learner activities (simulation activities, critical debate, hands on activity invention, storysharing) over the course of the week the young people will acquire the following:

  • Knowledge about: LGBTQIA+ rights protection and advocacy; non-heteronormative philosophies of love, affectivity and relationships (polyamory, polygamy), truly inclusive, accessible and rights based sexuality and relationships education.
  • Tools: a concrete set of non-formal education methods and communication tools to raise awareness among young people about how to claim gender, sexualities’ rights and promote LGBTQIA+ and non-heteronormative traditional perspectives of love, sexuality, affectivity and relationships in local EU communities.
  • Skills in: cross-border cooperation with other youth workers; confident and considerate self-expression; English speaking; preparing for and leading discussions and workshops; thinking critically and transmitting this skill; empathy; awareness-raising.
