About the project

The aim of the project “Circular economy: A Way To Embrace Future” is to improve skills,  competences and knowledge in youth, especially the ones with fewer opportunities,  about circular economy, as an emerging new model of consumption and a way to raise the product’s lifetime. Together with this we want to raise awareness in  youths regarding matters like sustainability, environment and the protection of the  planet. 

The Objectives of the project are: 

  • Promote the debate of circular economy in society and its principles;  
  • Change mentalities to a more sustainable model of economy, production and manage  of waste; 
  • Show that is possible to raise products value and its lifetime in different areas;
  • Promote the acquisition of capacities, competences and knowledge in youth people; 
  • Validate and recognize competences using non-formal methods;  – Stand for non-formal education as a valid and fruitful way of learning. 

Involved countries

 – Portugal, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia, Czechia, Italy, Hungary.

The venue & accomodation

Évora is a city and a municipality in Portugal. 

Dating prior to the Roman conquest, Évora’s History is marked by the passage and  formation of Empires and by its multicultural History marked by the several cultures and  religions throughout the millennia, with a big influence from the Catholic Christianity,  Islam and Judaism. Many of its monuments are well preserved, said monuments range  from Roman buildings to Renaissance architecture to XX century historical buildings.  Some of the most well known are the Roman Temple, the See Cathedral, the Bones  Chapel and the Palace of D. Manuel. Évora is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site  since 1986.  The population is around 53.500 inhabitants. 

Climate 

In October, the weather usually varies between 25ºC or less, during the day, and  15ºC or less, at night, and there may be periods of rain and thunderstorms, so we  recommended bringing some warmer clothes and a umbrella.  

Three (3) or four (4) days before departure, you can always check the weather via  online, following this link and select the District “Évora” and the City “Évora”.

Accommodation

 

Some of the participants will stay at the Évora’s “Pousada da Juventude”, it’s a concept  similar to a hostel directed to the youth population. In the same place we’ll have the  conference room, where we’ll going to work everyday in the training course. The  accommodation will be divided, for the majority of the participants, in double rooms.  

“Pousada da Juventude” is located in the city center, it’s a very beautiful area with  many monuments, picturesque houses and narrow streets not to mention the bars and  entertainment awaiting you at night.

The eligible participants

There will be 4 participants + 1 group leader per country.

The participants:
 
  • are aged 18 – 30 yo (group leader 18+ yo);
  • have an intermediate level of English;
  • are able to demonstrate their motivation and interest in the project topic in the application

Financial conditions

Accommodation, food and all materials at the project will be covered by the Erasmus+ programme.  The travel costs for the Czech participants will be covered within the limit of 360 EUR.

Plase note that in case you are selected for the project, you will be asked to pay a membership fee of 900 CZK (or 35 EUR for payments from abroad) – we will use this contribution to cover the compensation for the trip coordinator, the costs of materials and preparation, and the complete support of the participants before, during and after the trip. Instructions for paying the membership fee will be sent to you by e-mail, along with instructions to confirm participation and other steps. 
The membership fee also ensures your membership in the Youth Progress organization, free entry to all local activities and is paid annually – if you decide to go on another project with us this calendar year, you will not have to pay it again.
Your participation in the project is fully financed by the ERASMUS+ program. However, the program does not reimburse us, the sending organization, so thank you for helping us continue to provide these great opportunities to young people. 🙂

* In case of cancellation of participation by the participant, the contribution is non-refundable.

** In case of cancellation of the project by the organizers or due to force majeure, the contribution will be refunded to the participant’s account.

*** The membership fee may be waived in exceptional cases, e.g. if the participant faces a financial disadvantage, which will be evaluated individually by the sending organization.
