Call for Training Course DESIGN:
Developing educational strategies for inclusion ad growth through non-formal education

13 – 21 January 2026 (including travel days)

Germany

About the project

“DESIGN – Developing Educational Strategies for Inclusion and Growth through Non-Formal Education” is an Erasmus+ training course that brings together 34 youth workers from 9 European countries for an intensive learning experience in Berlin. The course addresses one of the most crucial challenges in youth work today: many newcomer youth workers want to create quality learning experiences, yet often struggle to design activities that are engaging, inclusive, and adapted to the diverse needs of young people.

The DESIGN training course is created to strengthen youth workers’ ability to plan, facilitate and evaluate non-formal educational activities using needs-based and competence-based approaches. Through practical sessions, participants will explore how to build learning strategies based on the realities and experiences of young people, to make sure that education becomes more impactful, accessible and relevant.

Over 8 days, youth workers will learn a variety of practical tools, including non-formal learning methodologies, group facilitation, and graphic facilitation, all aimed at improving the quality and effectiveness of youth work. The programme emphasises collaboration, peer learning and co-creation, providing participants with a supportive international environment to exchange good practices and develop new ideas together.

By the end of DESIGN, participants will strengthen their professional competences, expand their toolkit of creative and youth-centred methodologies, and they will build a stronger network of international colleagues. They will return back home with a better understanding of how to design impactful, inclusive and engaging learning experiences that support personal growth, participation and well-being of young people.
