ESC VOLUNTEERING IN ALBANIA with PVN
Are you ready for a life-changing experience in the heart of the Balkans?
From January 2026, Peace Volunteering Network (PVN) Albania is looking for motivated young people (18–30) from across Europe to join our European Solidarity Corps long-term volunteering projects in Tirana and surrounding areas.
For 6 to 12 months, you will live, learn and volunteer in Albania – supporting local communities, discovering new cultures, and growing personally and professionally.
About PVN Albania
PVN Albania is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 to promote a culture of peace and sustainable development through international volunteering and youth work.
We are the Albanian branch of the international network Service Civil International (SCI), working on:
- Empowering youth and active participation
- Human rights, democracy and peace education
- Inclusion and social development
- Intercultural dialogue and cooperation
- Environmental education and green initiatives
In the last 10 years, PVN Albania has hosted over 100 international volunteers, who have contributed to our local communities and built strong connections that last a lifetime.
What will you do as a Volunteer?
As an ESC volunteer with PVN Albania, you will be involved in a mix of meaningful, community-based activities:
- Inclusion & Solidarity
Support children and youth in street situations, Roma communities, and lonely elderly people in a daily center in Tirana.
You’ll help organize social, educational and cultural activities that encourage inclusion, dignity and participation for people with fewer opportunities.
- Youth Community of administrative tasks
Contribute to developing PVN’s new youth community center – a space for social, cultural activities.
Here you can help shape the center’s design, host events, organize creative workshops, music, art, film screenings, and promote sustainable lifestyles, prepare digital camping, fundraising
- Peace & Human Rights Education in Schools
Together with PVN staff and local volunteers, you will run non-formal education workshops in rural and urban schools around Tirana on topics such as human rights, peace, solidarity, communication, environment and European identity.
- Promoting European Identity & Volunteering
You will help young people in Albania discover opportunities in Europe by promoting European values, solidarity and volunteering in universities, youth groups, high schools, community centers and online (social media, local media, etc.).
Why This Experience is Life-Changing?
A long-term ESC project with PVN Albania is more than just volunteering – it is a personal journey of transformation.
- Develop professional skills: project management, workshop facilitation, communication, teamwork, multimedia, event organization and more – as also reflected in former volunteers’ experiences.
- Strengthen interpersonal skills: empathy, active listening, conflict resolution, cooperation and leadership in diverse groups.
- Explore a new culture: discover Albanian traditions, language, food and daily life while working closely with local communities.
- Grow personally: gain confidence, independence, resilience and a clearer sense of who you are and what you want for your future.
- Make a concrete impact: support people with fewer opportunities, contribute to peace and human rights education, and promote solidarity in practice.
Many former volunteers describe their time with PVN Albania as “a personal journey of growth and constant learning” where they met “wonderful people” and discovered new paths for their future.
